Dr. A. K. Das

Prof. (Dr) Aoiswarjya Kumar Das (M.Sc. & PhD in Cultural Anthropology) is one of the senior-most Museologists of India. He held the position of Professor, Maulana Azad Chair, National Museum Institute (Deemed University), New Delhi; Associate Professor/Coordinator, IGNCA, New Delhi and Director (exhibition), National Museum, Janpath, New Delhi. He is currently the Director, Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial, New Delhi. Dr. Das has developed several museums and memorials in different parts of India and curated several exhibitions of art and ethnography. He is awarded many fellowships including the prestigious Tagore Fellowship of the Govt. of India and Korea Foundation Fellowship of Govt. of South Korea. He has published more than 70 articles and papers; wrote 5 books on Tribal Art and Museology. He is a Life Time Achievement Awardee by the All India Museum Association
